 Gabriela Rojo - Performer and instructor Native to Argentina, but now a Vancouver-based tango instructor, Gabriela Rojo was initially attracted to the passion and sheer sensuality of the dance. Her adeptness as a tango dancer evolved from her love of flamenco and theatre, which she learned from childhood. Her training in tango rapidly developed after having the opportunity to study in Buenos Aires with the great Argentinean Masters. She has organized a substantial number of tango workshops and tango gala events in Vancouver at which such high profile dancers as Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena Ermocida have been invited to perform. Although she also often flies to Chicago where she organizes tango shows and performs, she is pleased to share her knowledge, talent and love of the dance with the Vancouver tango community. A passion for the dance Gabriela’s love of the Tango comes from her argentinean background but also from her personal inclination for music and dance. The passion, finesse and the sheer sensuality of this music is a venue that allows Gabriela to express the depths of her feelings through this intimate dance form. In Argentina everyone does the Tango: children, parents, grand parents…. It is the national dance, a pastime that all the argentineans understand and participate in. The dance is taught in schools so everyone has the opportunity to learn how to dance and maybe later to master.
